25 Degrees

Read about this bookstore and cafe concept and decided to give the dessert a try. Is located so near to my best friend's office. One thing about this cafe is the lightnings as the place can be sometimes dark and sometimes bright depending on where the sunlight comes in. It provides a cosy feeling but not really good for photography. The dessert below is a must try! Warm chocolate lava that flows out is heavenly.

PENANG Day 3 and 4 // Queensbay Mall & Dinner & Back To SG

1530: After around 30mins bus ride from Komtar, we finally reached the biggest shopping mall in Penang known as the Queensbay mall. This shopping mall provides much better shopping experience with more nice clothes, more varieties and reasonable price

Here are my loots

6 Cute little muffins for only 6RM

1900: We took a straight bus back to our hotel. The bus ride was a long one around 1hr10mins. Due to the world cup fever, we quickly settle our dinner at one chinese restraunt at Gurney Plaza. The crispy chicken is only 8RM. Cheap and yummy!

2100: Packing our things and admiring my souvenirs below which I really love them all.

0730: Woke up at 0730 to catch our flight back to SG at 0905. I'm glad to witness this beautiful sunrise right outside our hotel before we left Penang.  Lovely place will definitely be back for more.

PENANG Day 3 // Kee Lok Si Temple

0930: Decided to wake up a little earlier to start our last day stay at Penang. Today's destination will be the famous Kee Lok Si Temple. Kee Lok Si Temple is located very near to Penang Hill.  Too bad, Penang Hill is closed for tram upgrade. Kee Lok Si is so huge that we are unable to walk every corners of the place. In short, the place is beautiful too.

1200: Our breakfast and lunch are as below. The Penang Laksa is really yummy and is a definitely must try at Kee Lok Si temple!

PENANG Day 2 // Parglin Mall/Time Square/Night Market

1600: We went to Parglin Mall and Time Square for shopping. And, there is nothing to shop there. Time Square is new so maybe give it another 2 years before it is fully developed with more shops open.(now less than 10 shops are open)

1730: We took a bus back to our hotel for a good rest.

1900: After which, we headed down to Batu Ferringi again for dinner and night market shopping. The night market opens at 7pm daily. The whole stretch of road selling fake branded stuff and souvenirs.

Famous Fried Spring Roll At Batu(Long Beach Cafe)

2300: We went back to our Gurney drive hawker for supper!

5 mini pancakes filled with sweet corns just for RM2

0000: We finally went back to our hotel. I really love the lounge of our hotel. So modern and chic. Is a pity we did not have a sip there.

PENANG Day 2 // Pinang Peranakan Mansion

1500: We finally found our way to Pinang Peranakan Mansion and paid an entrance fee of RM 10. This is the manison where "Little Noyna" show was filmed.  Each and every room is unique. If I have more time, I would love to know more about the story of Baba.

PENANG Day 2 // GeorgeTown

1000: We decided to give the bus a try as taking a cab too frequently can be expensive. We took a bus(102,103,104) from our hotel to jetty. The bus was new and comfy! Just that we waited for a long time for the bus to arrive. From jetty, we changed a free shuttle bus(MPPP) to Georgetown.

1130: We stopped at a wrong bus stop and lost our way. So, we dropped by a coffeeshop to have our lunch. Our first Penang Laksa for RM $3 only. The noodle is so soft!

This is cool huh. The boss of the bak ku teh can go on 1 month leave for World Cup! Maybe he earn himself a ticket to South Africa!

1200: We "ventured" around the streets. Passing by a mosque.

The Chocolate Boutique above is famous in Penang. They got chocolates in all sorts of flavours even in chili!

PENANG Day 1 // Batu Ferringi & Dinner At Gurney Drive

1530: We continued our trip to Batu Ferringi as it was just 10mins drive from the Toy Museum. Batu Ferringi beach has several activities like jet ski, parachute, banana boat and horse riding. We had a long walk along the beach under the hot weather. We did not manage to stay till the sunset or night market as we are both tired and hot.

1800: We had our first dinner at Penang at Gurney Drive. The hawker centre is right beside our hotel. The char kway teow below is the most popular at Gurney Drive. The plate itself has 6 prawns inside and only cost me SG$2. Totally worth it!

2000: We went to a very nice cafe at Gurney Plaza for tea drinking. The pot of peach tea below only cost us SG$4.5! Love the concept of the tea house. How I wish SG got more of such places.

Watch out for the next post on our Day 2!
